I make life so hard on myself!!

From: Jeff LaCoy (jlacoy82@attbi.com) | Date: 2004-09-30 00:58:59 UTC
I made a very simple "positive" stamp for my first personal with a
rubber stamp, it was pretty rough, but not bad. I put in an order
with stampeaz and got my order in today. I scanned out my picture
(Calvin of Calvin & Hobbes) and traced it and transferred it. LOL,
I'm laying on my floor carving it now, had to take a break before my
back seized up on me. I have almost all the inside parts carved out,
then I'll just have to "trace" it with the #1 blade, and gouge out
the blank spots around it. I'll probably scan it and upload it, see
what you guys think :) I couldnt have just done a big easy negative
stamp, I had to make it hard on myself :)

A very cool stamp! Viva el Calvin!

My biggest 'occupational hazard' when carving is eye fatigue. If I
do not look off into the distance every few minutes, my distance
vision gets blurry. Ah, the joys of turning 40!

That is just an awesome stamp. That's it, where's Deedle? We need to carve a new signature stamp!

Letterboxers wear Khakis. Or jeans. Or shorts, if they're not scared of poison ivy. And rainjackets when they're crazy enough to go 'boxing in a downpour. And sunscreen, bug spray, big backpacks to hold all those stamp pads and box first aid supplies and extra bug spray and their very important water, and good hiking boots, and...

Jeff,
I must say, I'm a little jealous! I ordered from Stampeaz on my birthday (9/22) and still haven't gotten my kit! Oh well, good for you! And as soon as I get mine, I'll let you know how it's gowing...
